Welcome to our siteMy name is Terry Townsend I have flown racing pigeons since the age of 10 and have 38 years of highs and lows of the great sport of racing pigeons. In 2003 I had the idea of conducting a single loft race to raise funds and make a social day for club members this idea received great support from the Parkes Racing Pigeon Club of which I am now a life member of. However with decreasing numbers of members being able to compete and keep pigeons in smaller housing blocks and time constraints playing there part it has been decided by the club not to conduct the race this was when I decided to continue with the race on my own. So from 2012 the race will be run by myself and the club will still continue to run the stock bird auction and do the catering for the race day so as to still receive some benefit and raise funds for club costs. Single loft racing is a great way for people who are interested in racing pigeons to get involved even if they do not own pigeons all you need to do is contact a club member or someone with birds to breed a young bird that can be homed to the loft and enter the race all the work is done at my end caring for and training the young birds.
